Healthcare research shouldn’t require surrendering control of healthcare data.

Tamarin is building a research network where healthcare organizations can make their data useful without making data transfer the default.

Health data is everywhere. Access to it is not.

Researchers struggle to find the precise clinical populations they need.

Healthcare organizations are cautious about transferring patient data.

Clinical trials struggle to find sites and patients.

These problems share a common root: the people who need to compute against clinical data are usually separated from the organizations that control it.

We built a different model:

Bring the research to the data

Tamarin connects researchers with participating healthcare organizations and enables approved computation against source-connected clinical data.

The same infrastructure can support retrospective analysis, model validation,
clinical trial feasibility, and prospective research.

Tamarin’s technology is based on work supported by the National Science Foundation and is designed to enable research collaboration without making permanent patient-level data transfers the default.

Built by people who understand both sides

Tamarin’s source-connected research technology was designed and built by a team with world-class experience across healthcare, cryptography, research, and technology.

Our Founder

Kat Kuzmeskas, MPH

From dashboards tracking student progress as a Teach For America corps member, to a clinical rounding dashboard used daily for nearly a decade at a community health center, to the strategic planning department at Yale New Haven Health, Kat has spent her career turning data into decisions.

She also knows what it feels like when the data you need is right there, yet completely out of reach.

She founded Tamarin to fix that.

Help build a better model for clinical research.
